Comprehensive Victory in Second Four-Day Match

On the final morning of the second four-day match at Buffalo Park in East London, Dane Piedt exceptional performance, claiming six wickets for 79 runs, propelled South Africa A (SA ‘A’) to a resounding 232-run win over West Indies A. Piedt’s outstanding match haul of 11 wickets for 107 runs ensured the hosts leveled the series at 1-1.

The decisive third match is scheduled to take place in Bloemfontein next week.

SA ‘A’ began the day needing five wickets to secure victory. Piedt’s early breakthrough dismissed Kevin Sinclair for 21. Subsequent contributions from other bowlers, including Dane Paterson, further weakened the West Indies A batting lineup. Tevin Imlach’s dismissal, thanks to a sharp throw from Raynard van Tonder, left the visitors at 164/8 within the first hour of play.

Akeem Jordan (21) and Shamar Joseph (18*) provided some resistance, guiding West Indies A past the 200-run mark. However, Dane Piedt relentless bowling display concluded the innings with two wickets in two overs, as the visitors were eventually bowled out for 209.

The comprehensive win for South Africa A sets the stage for an intriguing third match between the sides in Bloemfontein.
