At the Invest Fest 2023 held in Atlanta, Steve Harvey, the renowned television host, took a moment to address the swirling rumours about his personal life and a recent social media mishap.

Harvey Dispels Cheating Allegations

Harvey, 66, responded to the recent speculations that his wife, Marjorie Bridges, 58, was allegedly involved with the couple’s bodyguard and personal chef. The rumours gained traction after a trip his daughter, Lori Harvey, took with Kendall Jenner to Cabo.

Addressing a large audience, Harvey said, Before I get started, just let me say, I’m fine. Marjorie’s fine. His statement was met with applause and cheers from the crowd. He further urged the public to focus on other matters, emphasizing, I don’t know what y’all doing, but find something else to do ’cause we fine. Lord have mercy. Man, I ain’t got no time for rumors and gossip. God’s been good to me, I’m still shining.

The allegations had initially surfaced on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, earlier in the week.

A Glimpse into Harvey’s Personal Life

Steve and Marjorie’s relationship dates back to 1990, but they only exchanged vows in 2007. Upon their union, Harvey adopted Marjorie’s three children from a previous relationship: Lori, Morgan, and Jason. Before Marjorie, Harvey had been married twice: first to Marica Harvey from 1981 to 2004, and then to Mary Shackelford from 1996 to 2005.

In a 2012 interview with People, Harvey spoke fondly of Marjorie, crediting her for transforming his life. He shared, I’d never been in a healthy adult relationship. I’d never been loyal, I’d never been fully respected. Marjorie, in a 2016 interview with the same outlet, discussed the challenges and joys of managing their blended family, emphasizing inclusivity and healing past wounds.

The couple’s family extends beyond their children, as they are proud grandparents to seven grandchildren.

Recent Social Media Controversy

In addition to addressing personal rumours, Harvey also touched upon a recent controversy on his X account. A tweet, which has since been deleted, asked followers to name a comedian they didn’t find funny. Harvey clarified that he hadn’t personally posted the tweet, but it was the work of a staff member handling his social media.

In a 56-second video, Harvey expressed his frustration, stating, Somebody works for me on my Twitter put a statement out that was totally negative. I gotta take responsibility for it ’cause they work for me. He emphasized that the tweet was not in line with his brand, which is rooted in motivation and positivity.

Clearly upset by the incident, Harvey concluded, I’m so pissed off right now, man. Talkin’ about, ‘I was trying to get some engagement.’ Okay, okay, you trying to get some employment, too…Now I gotta come on here and do a damn selfie. So here it is: I’m sorry, man. My bad, y’all. Won’t happen again though.

The incident underscores the challenges celebrities face in maintaining their public image, especially when others have access to their social media platforms.
